“Cross the circle if you [insert fun fact here],” goes a popular icebreaker at WriCampia called Common Ground. If someone were to yell, “Cross the circle if you love to read!” it’s likely that everyone would have to sprint across the grass.
Yes, many people love to read at writing camp, (including myself), but sometimes people don’t know where to start. To remedy that problem, I sent out a survey to all of WriCampia to ask them for any books or series recommendations they might have. A quick note on age ratings: this reporter used the guidance of several sources in assigning these. But please keep in mind that these maturity ratings are not concrete, and consult with a parent or guardian before reading a book that has a maturity rating higher than your age.
Here were some of the more popular books and series recommendations:
