NEW YORK, NY—Hey! I just wanted to give you a few tips and tricks to stay productive and still have fun during the pandemic.
(1) Have a blanket for all classes:
I know this may sound weird, but having a blanket for classes has actually helped me stay focused. Being comfortable is a key part of my success, but not too comfortable so that you can’t learn. When I was physically in school, being uncomfortable sometimes hindered my ability to focus.
(2) DON’T work in bed:
Yes, I know it’s tempting to want to stay in your bed for the whole day, but you’ll just become lazier and it becomes harder to work. Personally, I have a really comfy dog bed that I keep on my bedroom floor, and it helps me stay focused because it’s not as comfy as my bed. I don’t have a pet but it is basically a bigger pillow.
(3) Get your classwork done during class:
I know this tip can be hard for some people, but trust me, it’s in your best interest to get your work done right away. As soon as your work is done you can go back to that TV show you’re watching because the show is not going anywhere.
(4) Keep track of your work:
I suggest you make a google doc or a notepad of all the things you need to get done. This has helped me stay on top of all my schoolwork and hand in assignments on time.
(5) REMEMBER THAT IT’S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD:
Yes, I know that it seems like it, but just make sure that you’re still social distancing, washing your hands, and wearing your masks regardless of what your state says. The more we ignore those necessary measures the higher the chance of a second wave of coronavirus is in the fall. Stay safe and stay healthy!
XOXO,
Erinda Ratchford
